“The Keith-Albee Theatre is a rare and beautiful jewel. As members of this community we cannot sit idly in the background. We must work to preserve this cultural treasure of West Virginia and the Tri-State area. Our commitment to preserving the Keith-Albee is therefore undeniable.”
--Senator Robert Plymale, Co-President
Our first major step in the renovation process at the Keith-Albee Theatre is the removal of the partition walls of the mini-theaters that were constructed in the main auditorium in the 1970s. The southwestern district labor union has volunteered to assist in the removal of these walls at no cost to our organization. The city of Huntington has agreed to remove the debris free of charge.
Work began on removal of these mini-theaters on Saturday, September 9. Scroll down to see some photos of the work being done.
